How to track a lost phone

Losing a phone can be ones worst nightmare especially if it was an expensive one. I have been in a situation of Losing a phone and it wasn't easy to control my self. thinking about all my pictures qnd contact that have not been uploaded to the clouds and trying to find it all alone is frustrating part of the experience. So therefore here are the things you can do if get into a situation of losing your phone.

Android device manager (ADM)

This feature comes with ever android device.  It will only give you the last location of your phone while it internet connection, GPS or location was turned on and more importantly while ADM was set to locate your device. With this feature there is still a chance that you can get your phone back. To do this simply visit android.com/find on a computer or a laptop and sign in with your google account and select the device you wish to find. This feature can only work of the phone is still turned on.
If the phone is eventually found google will display this option
1.Making it ring even if your device is set to silence
2.Locking it with a PIN password or pattern even if you didn’t have one set before.
3. You can also add a recovery message on the lock screen. For example, you can write “please call this number if you have my device”
4.Erasing all the data on your device.
If you don't have access to a computer you can download the "find my device" app on Google Play Store.

Use of third party apps

You can also use some third party apps to find your device. The best include
Cerberus anti theft
Family locator
Lost android
All this app are available in the Google Play Store for download.

IMEI number.

If your phone was stolen and the thief turned it off or did it a factory reset, it may be impossible to recover your phone through the previous methods already discussed. Your best shot at finding your lost phone is through its IMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity) number and you may need the help of your network operator and the law enforcement agencies to get this done. You can get your phone IMEI number back checking the phone pack, the battery or by dialling *#06#.

Google Search

This is not the best option especially if it is a stolen phone but it worth the try. If your device is connected with your google account you can simply search for "find my device" on google and it would display your phone location only if your internet connection is one and the device still on. During this process google will also send a notification to phone.
